Assignment 1: A Unique Approach to the Mother Shower Blessing
Theme: To celebrate the client’s rebirth into motherhood and a new wombmanhood, honoring her divine connection to Mother Earth as a natural goddess.
Music: A meditative, grounding song played during the foot-washing ceremony to center her energy and surround her with mental love. I will be playing woman centered songs low in the background throughout the night.
Gift / Activity: Having loved ones write a poem for each decade of her life, highlighting special moments in those years that led up to this exact moment and why she is divinely perfect for motherhood.
Decor: An earthy, botanical “Garden of Eden” setting featuring abundant greenery, fresh and faux flowers, lush grass textures, and fresh fruit surrounding a dedicated throne chair. Depending on the season artificial flowers will be mixed in.
Assignment 2: Carrying Out A Successful Mother Shower Blessing
Scenario Consideration: Since this client moved to the city at eight months pregnant without her partner, family, or friends, this gathering can serve as a warm, welcoming way to build her a local community of supportive women. This could be blended into an intimate workshop. Where she will be able to meet other pregnant women and mothers.
1. Environment and Setting
Atmosphere: Designed as an intimate, botanical, earthy Garden of Eden indoors or outdoors, featuring lush greenery, flowers, and grass decor.
Arrival & Welcome: Guests wear flowy, goddess-like dresses. Each guess will be presented with a hair wreath or flower necklace. The mother is greeted at the door with a standing ovation, a respectful bow, and two ushers who guide her to a throne chair surrounded by flowers and fresh fruit.
Grounding Ritual: Before she takes her seat, I gently washes her feet while offering a welcoming prayer and a meditative song to send her love and ease her stress.
2. Activities and Games
Celebration: Guests enjoy music, dance, and light bites.
Speeches & Advice: attendees, and community members share words of congratulations, self-love advice, and encouragement.
Games: Lighthearted traditional activities, such as a blindfolded baby doll diaper-changing challenge.
3. Food and Refreshments
Botanical Buffet: A grazing-style spread featuring healthy, unique cultural foods and beverages.
Dessert: A savory, plated dessert served toward the end of the gathering.
4. Prayer, Meditation, and Community Support
Closing Circle: The group honors ancestors and the lineage of women who walked the path before, forming a circle around the mother to pray for her and remind her that she is never alone in her new city. I will leave a sign up book for guests to leave a message to mom and contact info if possible. The sheet will also have mothers’ contact info on it if the mother approves.
