I found infant mortality rates in the state of Minnesota for 2018. The rates for Asians and whites were the same, but for African Americans and Native Americans, the rate was more than double its white counterpart. I found that the infant mortality rate per 1,000 live births was:
-4 for non-Hispanic whites
-4 for Asian/Pacific Islander
-7 for Hispanics/Latinos
-9 for African American
-9.5 for Native American

*The Native American rate was actually missing (ironically) and I couldn’t find the number so I had to do some research to find it.

Wow seeing that they had the native American population numbers missing from that site is something. Thanks for sharing this information I’m so curious to see what other states are looking like as well or if we all look the same for the African-American population throughout the US
Yeah it was actually an eye opener for me, it felt like certain entities didn’t want these statistics so blatantly on the internet… it was very very hard for me to find the statistics of infant mortality rates split up by race, let alone the Native American rates. And just for context Minnesota has a LOT of reservations here and therefore a big indigenous population. So that should be easier to find. It was very disheartening.
