This is a story about my little cousin, giving birth to her baby just a year ago she’s 19 years old, but she gave birth at the age of 18. She’s definitely like a child of mine so when she first found out that she was pregnant, I was the very first person other than the child’s father to know about it. She was happy to tell me and she had 1 million And one questions to ask about giving birth, about taking care of the baby after, about nursing and general questions about the baby development. So let’s fast forward to the day that she gave birth. She wanted too many of us in the delivery room, but we could not all be there of course because the hospital wouldn’t allow it so it was about 15 of us on a FaceTime call, I believe it was more because her mother was in the room with her, and she was on two phones! Both phones had family on them, just as much as she wanted us there we all wanted to be there, it was the most chaotic, beautiful thing I’ve ever witnessed because we were all doulas, doctors nurses etc, we all laughed as a family coached her through it, cried until it was time to push the baby out. She cried, some of us cried, and it was a beautiful, fun experience honestly. She was scared but she did an amazing job!

This is such an awesome story to share. I felt like I was there too. lol. Seemed like it was very exciting and I’m sure the oxytocin was flowing with all the love you guys surrounded her with. I’m glad she had you all. I’m happy the experience was so amazing for you.

Thank you Chandra it really was such a beautiful and emotional experience. Even though most of us couldn’t physically be in the room, it honestly still felt like we were all right there with her. We were laughing, crying, coaching her, encouraging her and just surrounding her with so much love from the beginning to end. I love that you mentioned oxytocin because that really describes the energy of that moment perfectly. She had so much love around her and I’m grateful I was able to witness such a special moment in her life. It definitely became one of those birth experiences. I’ll never forget.
